Description
Overview:
When we started Art In A Glass, one of our goals was to find excellent wines from small producers that simply weren’t available in the States. Along the way, we discovered the wonderful tradition of cave coopératives — French cellars where winegrowers band together, sharing resources and expertise to produce wines of remarkable quality that no single small grower could achieve alone. One of our very favorite cooperatives sits at the northern tip of the Médoc, where since 1934 a community of dedicated winegrowers has been crafting wines in the traditional style of classic Bordeaux. The 2022 Le Grand Art is a beautiful blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, drawn from gravel and clay-limestone soils and aged patiently in oak. This wine has been a true staple of our club — its very name even helped inspire ours — and we are thrilled to bring it back to our members in this exceptional vintage.
Bob’s Review:
OMG! This is beautiful — the wine of the tasting so far. Big, ripe fruit with a hint of spice and a whisper of oak, none of it offensive, all of it delicious. It lingers and lingers on the palate. This is a wine I want to drink all night long. Drink now or hold for five to ten years.
