WOW!
Big dark fruit that glides across the palate and then just hangs there, long after the sip. Let it open up in the glass. The palate is fabulous. Bob’s note sums it up: “Wanted to drink this all night.”
2023 Chateau Enclos Haut Mazeyres
WOW!
This one had to win Bob over. His first note read simply “Great.” Tight, bright cherry, firm tannins, and a reminder to come back once it had breathed. At the end of the tasting he did, and it had blossomed: subtle and complex, with beautiful florals, soft tannins and terroir that’s present but never overwhelming. Great became Wow! A wine that sneaks up on you, so give it time to open.

Description
This pack crosses the river to Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Merlot leads the blend here, with Cabernet Franc alongside it, on clay and limestone soils. The result is a rounder, more generous style of Bordeaux: plush, polished, and deeply satisfying.

The Apollon returns from last year’s club, where it earned a spot in our Cru Bourgeois pack. This year it moves up to join the Grand Cru. The Chateau Enclos Haut Mazeyres has been in the club before, and it keeps making it back through the blind tasting.
Every wine was chosen in Bob’s blind tasting, and neither is available anywhere in the United States outside the club.
